Coding Games and Animations with Scratch

We've been working with Scratch this week to prepare ourselves for our projects using "Makey Makey". Students are using books to learn how to use Scratch to code games and animate objects. Birds Eye View Snowmen

We tried out mixing watercolour paints to create a wintery background and then created our snowman layering foam pieces between to give a 3D effect. We also wrote our Holiday Traditions and when the snowman is scanned using HP Reveal it has us sharing our traditions

Terry Fox

Today we participated in the Terry Fox walk to raise money for cancer research. We walked passed Wayoata School where Terry attended in Kindergarten and Grade 1. We walked a total of 2km and we were surprised to realize that Terry ran that 21 more times each day.

We’re Back!

Welcome back to another school year! A few changes to the look of our classroom this year. I’m looking forward to seeing my students that I spent the year with last year as well as meeting my new ones. I will have to apologize ahead of time as the school went through some serious renovations this summer and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like everything will be completed in time for our first day. So please don’t mind the mess. Looking forward to a great year with my new Crew!

Our Trip Across Canada

For the last few months we have travelled across Canada. We also created brochures for each province or territory that included interesting facts, geography, landmarks and tourist spots. We took some spectacular pictures of our travels see if you can recognize any of them.
